Bord Gais - Supermarket Sweep

  • Director: Team DADDY

Windmill Lane commercials VFX were delighted to be reunited with D.A.D.D.Y. directing duo Mike and Enda on the latest campaign for Bord Gais Energy. Carrying on from the first Home Energy commercial and then the launch of the Bord Gais Energy Grand Canal Theatre spot. Produced by Paul Holmes of Red Rage, for agency DDFH&B, the campaign introduces the team of robots to a late night supermarket sweep promoting the collaboration with Tesco and their Rewards initiative.

The robots were designed by Mike and Enda of D.A.D.D.Y. who then directed the live action location work. Keith Fallon and Janak Thakker of Windmill’s 3D department tracked every shot, then rigged, animated and lit a team of robot characters matching them into the shots, many of which had practical effects.

The plates were then cleaned up in Flame, led by Mark Bailey, with much wire and tracking point removal, before the 3D robots were composited, with a final grade applied by Dave Hughes in Baselight.
Watch out for August when they get up to more late night mischief!
